DFC Crash Out Of The Premier Cup As Injuries Mount With Ballymacash Cashing In

DFC once again exited the Premier Cup like last year at the first round by the same score of 1-0.

DFC opened brightly enough with Adams firing wide of the back post and McCordick did the same few minutes later.

McCordick then went off injured with Norton replacing him up top but very little clear-cut chances were created by either side.

In the second half McMath then also went off injured and was replaced by Andy Hamilton.

On 70 minutes Glen Hand had a chance to open the scoring when the keeper mis-kicked but his effort dropped wrong side of the crossbar.

Then with minutes remaining skipper Aaron Moffett mis-judged a long clearance and the striker then lobbed the keeper.

Within minutes Moffett had a chance to redeem himself and force the game into extra time when Norton was fouled in the box but the normally clinical Moffett’s shot rebounded from the bar and was cleared.

DFC will now have to patch up players for home league game against Richill AFC on Tuesday night.
