In a very tight and tense game with DFC seeking to keep hold of the leadership at the top of the table it was no surprise to see the game won by the only goal of the game.
Indeed the last 3 matches all against strong opposition have been won by 1-0 scoreline which makes the battle for league championship very tense and it was obvious in the first half as both teams competed well for every ball.
Skipper Moffett made an unusual poor back pass on 25 minutes but keeper Croft saved his blushes with a well blocked save.
Then on 32 minutes the all important goal came when Saturday scoring hero Redpath made a very positive run down the right and won a corner . McCordick swung over the cross and Thompson glided home a sublime header into the far corner of the net.
The second half was equally tense and Adams fired over from distance before with 15 minutes to go Neil King received a second yellow and was duly sent off.
Manager Uprichard then replaced Doc with Jack Clarke and McCordick with Harrison as the team kept a good shape to see out the vital win.
Now DFC need to keep the focus on getting the final 2 points needed to become champions and take them into a play off for possible route back into senior football.
DFC host Fivemiletown on Saturday at home as they seek to close out the league title in yet another bruising game.
DFC would like to thank P. McVey from Magherafelt for sponsoring the match tonight.
