DFC held a minutes silence before the game for the death of their former striker Stephen Lawson’s father Clifford who passed away during the week and who visited DFC many times in recent years.
DFC opened brightly with Aaron Duke setting up Andy McMath which the keeper pushed away for a corner but then Windmill responded themselves and tested home keeper Stephen Croft low down at his near post and a minute later Aaron Moffett slipped but Croft pulled off another excellent stop low down.
On 18 minutes Josh Norton was adjudged to have brought down the midfielder and from the resultant penalty Croft pulled off a wonder save to keep the score blank . However on 27 minutes both central midfielders went for same ball and Windmill broke away with the centre forward scoring a fantastic goal into the top corner from a tight angle.
Richy Thomson had a chance to equalise on 35 minutes but his tame shot was easily cleared off the line and then on the half time whistle Windmill were reduced to 10 men when the left back stupidly lost his cool in front of the referee and stamped on Duke.
DFC were better in the second half but never really made the most of the extra man and on the hour mark Stephen Jones and Norton made way for Marty Hughes and Scott McCordick and on 75 minutes after a free flowing move it was the returning McCordick who sealed the equaliser with a superb shot on the turn.
Indeed DFC thought they had won the match a minute later when Moffett fired in from a corner but strangely the referee disallowed the goal for some infringement that nobody else seen.
Thompson then made way for Nathan Lavery in the final minutes but it was Windmill who nearly stole it on the final whistle when they headed against the bar from a corner.
Tough game but two more home points dropped by DFC.
