Match Report

DFC made the long journey to Killeel on Saturday for there last league game of the season after a two week lay off and before the most important fixture in recent years next Saturday when they host Porstewart in the first of two leg play off to try and return back to senior football after relegation last season on goal difference.

Valley rangers were perfect hosts and formed a guard of honour to applaud DFC onto the pitch as league champions.

On  the quarter hour Clarke rattled the bar from distance and few minutes later a great move involving Redpath Clarke and McCordick resulted in good save by the home keeper.

Andy Graham had a chance then for Valley but easy save for Croft and on 37 minutes DFC finally went in front when the keeper miss punched a cross from Norton and Thompson duly obliged.

Mcmath then had great chance to level for Valley but Croft pulled off great save with his  legs but after half time Valley did get back on level terms when the center forward headed home from a corner.

Manager Uprichard then replaced Redpath with Adams and a minute later DFC were back in front when McConnell delivered a perfect cross to the back post for Thompson to score his second.

McCordick got the goal he deserved on the hour mark from the penalty spot after he was fouled and the same player made it four on the day after another great move.

McCordick was fouled again in the box and Thompson converted for his hat trick and he plus Hughes were then replaced by King and Harrison to get as much game time as possible for everyone.

Harrison then went on himself to score two more in a comprehensive win which should stand the boys in positive mood for next week.

DFC would like to ask every one to come out to planters park next Saturday for 3 pm kick off as we expect big crowd to try and cheer the boys on.
