This was a top of the table clash with a DFC really trying to convert draws from recent weeks into victories to keep themselves in the title race.
Crewe has the first chance on 5 minutes but Stephen Croft got down low to block and the rest of the first half was fairly even without either keeper having been tested.
On 40 minutes Crewe Center back was sent off for lunging in with both feet against Josh Norton who then himself had to leave the pitch at start of second half with ligament damage and he was replaced by Scott Adams.
DFC tried hard to make the extra man count and had all the possession before Richy Thompson calmly chipped the keeper to deservedly put DFC in front.
Other chances came the way of Marty Hughes and Andy McMath but DFC couldn’t get the all important second goal.
Michael Denver replaced Chris Coleman as they went to try and see the game out and on 94 minutes they got a sucker punch when Crewe equalised at the back post to steal a point.
