Mistakes Cost DFC As Portstewart Claim Win At Planters Park

In glorious sunshine DFC simply made a number of enforced errors in there relegation battle and have to now sweat on there final league game next Saturday to ensure they remain in the PIL.

Portstewart went in front on 10 minutes when yet another free kick from distance creeped into the bottom corner and not for the first time this season.

Glen Hand restored parity on 25 minutes when he chased a lost cause but a mix up between keeper and defender allowed him the opportunity to equalise but on the half hour the home side again found themselves behind when skipper Moffett won his challenge but his fellow defenders were slow to respond and the striker turned the ball in from an acute angle.

Moffett was then pushed in the area and his spot kick managed to evade the keeper to pull the sides level at half time however on 52 minutes they were behind again when they failed to clear a long diagonal free kick which resulted in a looping header going over the home keeper.

Manager Uprichard then introduced all 3 subs at one time namely McConnell , King and Gray in place of Walker , Hand and Richmond and almost immediately were 4-2 down when King man handled the striker whose free kick once again went in directly.

Moffett had a chance to get one back from another penalty but the keeper guessed the right way and saved his penalty.

So as the season draws to a close DFC are 6 points clear and better goal difference which should see them safe but now have to wait to the final matches to see the final outcome.
