In a hastily rearranged fixture DFC made the difficult trip to Tobermore United on Saturday knowing this was the only league action today and came away with 3 valuable and hard earned points to keep them ticking over in the top half of the table.
On a sticky pitch it took a fluent move between Patterson and Rodgers that caused confusion in the home defence and Johnson got himself between the centre back and keeper to lob the ball home.
Then on the half hour Liggett won yet another header and his strike partner Johnson again lobbed the keeper but this time his shot scraped the outside of the post.
On 35 minutes Patterson scored the best goal of his life when he fired home from the edge of the area after being set up by Liggett.
At the start of the second half Tobermore pulled one back from a cross come shot on the right wing that evaded Maguire in goals.
Tobermore kept up the pressure but Thompson who replaced Johnson scored the decisive 3rd goal after another deft header from Liggett.
Mc math replaced the tiring Jones in the final minutes and in injury time Tobermore pulled another goal back from a scramble but DFC went home with the important victory.
We would like to wish skipper Aaron Moffett our longest serving player of 12 years with the club all the very best for his wedding next Saturday.
