Application to Lisburn Junior Invitational League – Under 17

We are pleased to announce that Dollingstown Football Club are in the process of applying to put a team into the

Lisburn Junior Invitational League which is sponsored by the Daily Mirror – at UNDER 17 level.

DFC are an ambitious club which has been proven over the short history, with excellent facilities and we see that by starting this U17 team we can provide a quick way for young players to progress over the next 3 years into senior football.

With both our 2 senior teams growing and progressing, we now feel it is the right time to start to build a youth section which will aim to grow over the coming years along side the club which will raise the stature of the club and enable it to progress at all levels of local football.

We intend to start a U17 team next season to compete in the Lisburn league and to help push these young players towards our Reserve team who compete in MUFL Reserve Championship and who are in cup final next Friday night (10th April 2015) as the club strides to move forward and be important part of the local community by providing opportunities and football for local people, whether it be in playing of coaching.

obviously, this can’t just happen overnight but this is where we are going to start . . . . .

Further details will be announced in due course

Details For The Wilmor Johnston Memorial Cup Final

Everything is now 100% confirmed . . .

The Final of The Wilmor Johnston Memorial Cup will be held at Holm Park, Armagh City FC on Friday 10th April 2015 with a 7.30pm Kick Off.

It’s a great achievement for Simon and everyone involved in the Reserve squad after the step up in class this season following on from the triumph’s of last season when they won the double collecting the trophies for the MUFL Reserve Division 1 and the O’Hara Cup which was a first for the club.

After some changes from last season to enable the club to be given the best chance to move onto bigger and better things on all sides the aim for this season over the summer break for the reserves was to continue breeding in youth to the squad but also having a few old heads around to help nurture the players and to give them the best opportunity to make an impact and move on in their own personal standards and ultimately push the Reserves on which would also feed up to the first team.

With a top half league position nearly confirmed and still an opportunity to finish in the top couple of positions in the MUFL Reserve Championship and also this Cup Final the hard work is proving to be paying off.

As the Final is on a Friday evening please make to short journey to Holm Park in Armagh to cheer on the lads whether you are involved in the first team, a supporter, a club volunteer, a family member or just a lover of local football, its sure to be an excellent game and a great advert for local football.

Planters Park Hosted Under 14’s School Cup Final

On Wednesday 25th March 2015 Planters Park played host to the Mid Ulster School’s Under 14’s Cup Final between Lurgan Junior High School and Dromore High School on a lovely yet fresh day.

In what was always going to be a tight game Lurgan JHS made it a League & Cup Double in the Under 14’s age group in which has been a great sporting year for the school.

With the game finishing all level at 2 goals a piece at full-time we then had extra time. Both teams pushed hard to try and avoid the luck of a penalty shootout and Lurgan JHS scored in extra time and held on to lift the trophy.

Credit to both Lurgan & Dromore for putting on a great game.
