For the second week running DFC hosted a Premier U20 team namely Dungannon Swifts this week in the semi final of the Bob Radcliffe Cup and the home team started like a house on fire and found themselves 3-0 up within the opening 10 minutes.
They scored in the opening minute when the keeper could only parry a shot from Glen Hand and Scott Adams reacted first to fire his shot into the top corner and 5 minutes later the roles were reversed when Adams set up Hand for the second goal.
It was that man Hand again on 10 minutes who set up Richy Thomson to score the home sides third goal and set them in cruise control.
However credit to the youthful Dungannon team who kept plugging away and after there initial shot rebounded of the far post they reacted quickest to pull one back and few minutes later they hit the same post again although Ryan Gourley likewise missed a glorious chance at the other end after being set up by Thompson.
In the second half both teams kept pressing with both Thompson and Hand winning the race against the keeper but on both occasions failed to capitalise.
Marc Davidson and Adams were then replaced by Davy Gray and Chris Coleman as the home club held out to reach there third Bob Radcliffe Cup final of recent years where they will play favourites Banbridge Town who boast a very experienced squad.
DFC would like to thank match sponsor Distag QCS from Dungannon for sponsoring the game today.
