Despite making 5 changes to rotate the squad DFC ran out comfortable winners in the Irish cup to put there name in the hat for only the second time in the clubs history.
They went in front on 5 minutes when Liggett set up his partner Johnson to tap home and on the half hour mark they doubled the lead when Thompson fired low into the bottom corner from an acute angle,
Then before the interval it was McMath who beat the keeper and set up Liggett for an easy finish to make it 3-0 at the break.
Liggett then scored number 4 on 50 minutes when he latched onto a long ball and superbly finished low into the bottom corner.
Atcheson then won a header at the back post from a corner and Mc math tapped in number 5 before Thomson got number 6 of the afternoon after a good break from Johnson deep inside his own half.
McConnell , Hand and Liggett then all made way for Rea, Conlon and King in the final 25 minutes of the game.
Special thanks to our match and ball sponsors Silverwood Galvanisers Ltd and The Cellar Bar and we would like to wish Tullycarnet a safe trip back to Belfast.
