Dollybirds Inflict First Defeat For The Gers In Dominant Win At Cherny Park

Top of the table Banbridge Rangers hosted DFC and it was DFC who inflicted their first defeat of the season in a very solid overall team performance.

Aaron Duke put the visitors in front on 5 minutes when Aaron Moffett headed back at the far post from a Andy McMath cross for Duke to tap in and it was skipper Moffett who on the quarter hour mark denied Banbridge an equaliser with a superb tackle inside the area.
Then on 25 minutes it was 2-0 from a Duke penalty after a superb turn in the area by Scott McCordick which resulted in him being fouled in the box.
In the second half Banbridge pushed further forward with substitute Lee Feeney creating room for himself in the pockets and on 65 minutes only a good save by Stephen Croft from distance kept them out.
Then on 75 minutes it was game over when Duke out on the left found his strike partner McCordick who calmly tucked it away at the back post.
Matty Walker then went off injured and Marc Davidson made his long awaited debut and shortly afterwards Richy Thompson and McCordick were replaced by Scott Adams and Marty Hughes as DFC held out for an extremely important win in what was a very solid overall team performance.
Next Saturday DFC are at home to near neighbours Tandragee Rovers who will once again provide very strong opposition.
