Armagh City vs Dollingstown
Match Report
Dollingstown gained revenge for there home defeat in December with there most comprehensive victory of the season so far plus an overall excellent team performance.
Richy Thompson who was very lively tested Devine from distance in the opening minutes and then on the quarter hour set up debutant striker Gary Liggett for his first goal for his new club and a minute later the roles were reversed when he set Thompson up for the second goal of the game.
Same two players then combined again this time with Liggett heading over the bar before Thompson scored a contender for goal of the season when he took the ball from an Armagh corner and ran full length of the pitch before superbly beating Devine from distance.
Veteran Shay Campbell then forced Croft into a great stop just before the break as DFC went in comfortable 3-0 up.
Armagh came more into the game in the second half but DFC continued to create many chances with the hard working Davy Richmond volleying over the bar before Thompson and Stephen Jones made way for Colin Cunningham and Ryan Lawless and then Andy McMath made way for Adam Patterson.
With 5 minutes remaining Glen Hand made great break down the left and Liggett fired home his second goal on his debut before Campbell pulled one back for the home side with a shot from distance.
Next week DFC are on the road again away to local neighbours Lurgan Celtic who had an excellent away win themselves and this will be another severe test for DFC.
