So as the 2019/20 seasons have now all been confirmed as finished due to Covid-19 by each league committee, preparation continues as Dollingstown Football Club gets ready to ensure that the club continues to grow both on and off the pitch.
After excellent seasons by both teams with 3rd place finishes, which was our PIL teams highest ever finish and both teams still in cup competitions which might or might not be finished this season it was a very successful season on all fronts but one which could of been even better if all the competition had of played out to a finish.
With all the off-season work around Planters Park finished both teams are back to pre-season even though no start dates are arranged yet but it will get the lads ticking over and back into the swing of things.
Stephen and his backroom staff of Andy, Gerard and Philip have all committed for another season and with the new Reserves management team of Alan and Ben settling in and now able to meet players and start small sessions both teams will be building up in the preparations with the current players and will also be on the lookout to add additional quality players who have the ethos of fitting into our family club, enabling the club to push for honors on all fronts next season.
We are also encouraging the local community to come down to games and support from the start of the season. Nearly every Saturday we have games on at Planters Park (once the season gets up and going) and its the perfect place to bring the kids down and support your local club in great, safe surroundings. During games the clubhouse is open so light refreshments are available and there is plenty of space in a nice clean environment to enjoy the games. Follow us on Facebook or Twitter and then you will be kept up to date on when the games will start.
With our partnership with Moira Youth FC they will also be using Planters Park for training and some matches, a great club with an ethos to match our own makes it a perfect match. We look forward to welcoming the young local lads down with their coaches on all occasions.
