Playing back to back fixtures is never easy and this was never an epic game but one of true grit by both sides with Dollingstown inflicting the first league defeat of the season on Annagh United.
Manager Uprichard kept faith with the same side as last week with only captain Moffett replacing King who was unavailable.
The home side should have went in front in the opening five minutes when Liggett intercepted a poor pass and drove in on the keeper who was well beaten but his shot curled the wrong side of the far post.
Annagh then had a chance themselves on 15 minutes when Maguire dropped a corner but he recovered well to snap up the rebound.
The remainder of the first half was a battle in midfield with neither side creating many clear cut chances.
Once again like the first half Johnson had a great chance early on but credit the defender for getting the block in.
Then a fantastic move involving a Rogers and Johnson set up Liggett who rifled the ball into the top corner to break the deadlock.
Acheson then fired just wide from a free kick but on the break Annagh almost scored after Moffett tried to usher the ball out for a goal kick.
Jones was replaced by McCullough making his home debut and shortly after this Mooney made a superb move in midfield before setting up Johnson to curl in a beautiful finish into the bottom corner.
Johnson then made way for Thompson with fresh legs to try and see out the game but Annagh pulled one back in injury time by a smart finish from the edge of the area but DFC held out for a very valuable 3 points.
