Unfortunate Dollingstown Unlucky To Gain Nothing

In a must win game DFC were very unfortunate not to come away with at least a draw based especially on there second half dominance.

Both teams created half chances in the opening 25 minutes without really testing either keeper but this all changed when a cross from the left wing somehow managed to avoid the home keeper and his defenders and went across to the opposite wing where he cut in and buried his shot in the back of the net.

DFC responded and and from 2 corner kicks walker headed over and another effort was cleared off the line after excellent stop by the keeper however on 37 minutes it was 2-0 when DFC gave away possession needlessly on the half way line which resulted in a cheap corner kick.

From the corner the visitors got a free header which appeared to go straight at the keeper and into the net for a comfortable half time lead overall.

The second half was much more positive for the home side who pressed hard throughout and on 50 minutes Liggett intercepted a poor back pass and rounded the keeper to calmly score.

Gourley and Jones were then replaced by Thompson and Mc Math as DfC went in search of the equaliser and Johnston was very unlucky when his cheeky back heel beat the keeper but got cleared off the line again.

Richmond then made way for Gray but despite all the possession at least 3 further good chances were missed which would have got the home side a deserved point in there battle against relegation.

We would like to thank Colin McCullough and TBF Thompson for sponsoring the match and our own chaplain for sponsoring the match ball.
