Greig (Bap) Savage Announced As New 2’s Manager

Last week Dollingstown installed Greig Savage as the new Reserve Team Manager taking over the reigns from Simon Brown who had stepped down after the last league game last season.

It was a long process which Dollingstown didn’t want to rush as they wanted the right person to continue the fantastic strides forward that the reserves have taken over the past 2 seasons, and they believe they have got the correct man to lead them forward.

Bap’s playing career has always been in Lurgan with all but one year being based at Lurgan Town Boys. A wealth of experience in Mid Ulster Football as a player and has also with the 2 years he has been Manager at Lurgan Institute who play in MUFL Division 1.

We look forward to supporting Bap in his new role and Welcome him to Dollingstown Football Club.

Here are a few things about Bap:

Why Bap?

Named after Former Linfield captain Bap Dornan for the way I used to play and look.

Most memorable moment?

Taking Lurgan Town to semi finals of mid ulster cup to be narrowly beat on penalties by a Dungannon swifts side lying 3rd in the premiership.

Memorable moment as a manager?

Getting Lurgan Institute to their first cup final in 25 years last season.

My motto?

“All things are possible to him that believes .”

Why Dollingstown?

They are an ambitious , forward thinking club and I hope to continue in the process of establishing Dollingstown as a professionally run Irish league side pushing for premiership status while developing young players to move through the ranks into senior football.
